About me

I’m James, better known behind the decks as DJ Hamez. I’m based in Keighley and play pubs, bars, private parties and club events across Yorkshire and further afield.

I started DJing in 2008 with my first pair of Pioneer CDJ-800s, playing hardstyle and old-school hard techno. My early years included regular nights at XZILAR8 in Harrogate, alongside gigs in Leeds, Whitby and York, before I moved more towards parties and private events.

Around 2024, I got properly back into the club scene as the Saturday-night resident at Club De Facto in Ripon. Since then, I’ve also played birthdays, private celebrations and Christmas events for Skipton Building Society.

These days, the music depends on the night. It could be ’90s and noughties favourites, R&B, house and dance anthems, or a mix of different decades and genres to suit the crowd. I still enjoy a proper techno set too, with quick mixes and plenty of energy.

Requests are a big part of how I play. I enjoy taking what people want to hear and finding a way to mix it into the set so the night keeps flowing. Whether you’ve got a few must-play tracks or a particular style in mind, we can work out the music together.
